The report of my death was an exaggeration

So sorry I haven’t posted in such a long time.

I guess I’m stuck — so close to the end too. I finished Chapter 19, but I’m not sure I’m happy with it, and Chapter 20, which should be the last, I haven’t been able to write more than three words a week on. I thought I knew how it was going to end, but now that I’m there, I don’t like the ending, so I’m still dwelling on it. (and dwelling and dwelling).

Meanwhile I’ve been pouring all of my energy into my day job because I almost lost it and I’m a single mother living paycheck to paycheck, so a bit panicked about possibly being unemployed. Things should settle down in a month or so there, but that’s been a huge distraction as well.

I know… “Excuses, excuses.”

I’m also looking for another beta reader. If you’re interested, shoot me an email at

I hope to finish up and post soon, but I won’t give a timeframe because I just don’t know. I do think that once I’m unstuck I’ll finish very quickly.

Thanks everyone for the comments and questions.

  1. Take all the time you need Jay!
If the ending doesn’t feel right to you, don’t rush it.
Sorry real life has been difficult lately. Hope it gets better! 🙂

  2. Take your time. Sometimes Life rears it’s very inconvenient head and just messes up the good stuff! Persevere and we’ll be patient.

  3. Thanks for letting us know! I hope everything settles down soon, including your muse! I’ll be patiently (not really, lol) waiting!😘

  4. If you need some motivation: it’s been half a year since the last chapter and I still check here for a new one every other day:(
