The end of a chapter…

I’m in the middle of writing the Epilog for Rough Boys. I am going to miss them a lot—they’ve been a huge part of my life for the last year and a half. But there are other boys whose stories need to be told. I’m sure they will also become dear to my heart once I start writing about them. (So many men, so little time!)

I started a short story with the idea that I might submit it for an anthology call. The problem is that the story needs to be between 1500 and 4000 words. I’m already over 1000 and the main character’s love interest hasn’t made an appearance yet. Hmm. It may take more discipline than I have to write something short.

I promise everything new I write (after Rough Boys), I’ll post here first. I can’t promise my posts will stay here forever. And some of my posts may be random—because writers need to be random occasionally.

Finishing my first novel feels like the end of a chapter in my life.

  1. The characters have made an impression on me in these stories, b/c of how real they seem. It will be hard for us to let them go probably too 🙂 I’m glad we are seeing many of them find the happiness they deserve and that we want them to find. I do really look forward to seeing what else you come up with in the future though! I’ve enjoyed Rough Boys alot and will always say it is one of the stories that brought forth alot of real emotions as I read. Love the blog. What pretty colors and a beautiful picture!
    Good luck and keep writing.
